The Axopar 37 Sun-Top is the cult Finnish walk-around. 11.20 meters of twin-step hull, two Mercury 300 HP engines reaching 40 knots. Sliding roof, modular cockpit, twelve guests for day cruising. One cabin for quick rest. Fuel included depending on package. Departure from the Old Port of Mykonos.
Not every day needs a destination, and some of the best time aboard Axopar 37 Sun-Top is spent chasing shelter and clear water around Mykonos itself. On days when the meltemi blows, the captain works the southern and eastern coves - Kalafati, Lia, Fokos and the small anchorages below Elia and Super Paradise - where headlands cut the swell and the water stays inviting. We move as the wind shifts, always seeking the calmest corner.
Rhenia's western bays are the other refuge, a short run from Tourlos yet worlds away from the crowds, with pale sand shelving into deep blue. Axopar 37 Sun-Top anchors for swimming, paddleboarding and a long lunch, and the crew keeps the day unhurried and private. Because mornings are almost always calmer than afternoons, we start early and let the itinerary follow the sea rather than a fixed plan. This is the itinerary for guests who value privacy and swimming over sightseeing, and it is the one the captain most often recommends when the forecast promises a strong north wind.
Charters aboard Axopar 37 Sun-Top depart from Mykonos New Port at Tourlos, just north of the town, with the Old Port used as an alternative pick-up point when conditions or timing call for it. The crew confirms the exact meeting point and time the day before, and both ports are a short taxi ride from the main resorts and beaches.
The season runs from May to October. June and September offer warm seas with lighter crowds and generally gentler wind, while July and August are the hottest and liveliest months but also when the meltemi blows most consistently. May and October are quieter and well suited to relaxed cruising when you are flexible with the itinerary.
The meltemi is the strong north wind of the Aegean summer, and it usually builds through the afternoon. Mornings are the calmest part of the day, so the captain starts early and plans routes to stay in the lee of the islands. On the windiest days the sheltered southern coast and Rhenia's coves stay comfortable, and the captain reads the forecast each morning to choose the best plan.
Yes. Delos and Rhenia sit just across a short channel from Mykonos and are the classic day cruise aboard Axopar 37 Sun-Top, easily combined in a single outing. Paros and Naxos are reachable on a full day in settled weather, best begun early to cross before the meltemi builds; for a relaxed pace over several islands a multi-day charter is the better choice.
