The builder

There are yachts, and then there are Feadships.

Feadship is the Dutch name behind some of the most admired custom superyachts on the water. Since 1949 the yard has followed a single, uncompromising idea: every yacht is a one-off, drawn from a blank sheet around the personality of its owner. Nothing is taken from a catalogue, and no two Feadships are ever the same.

That devotion to full custom, combined with a level of engineering and finish that has become a benchmark for the whole industry, is why a Feadship is regarded less as a product than as a piece of maritime craftsmanship - a monument to imagination, built to last for generations.

The name behind the legend

Feadship stands for the First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders, a cooperative created in 1949 to introduce the finest Dutch yacht builders to American owners. What began as an export alliance became, over three-quarters of a century, the most respected name in custom yachting.

Today the name brings together three historic houses that share a single design and engineering centre, uniting more than a century of shipbuilding heritage under one standard of excellence.

The three houses

Three houses, one standard

Feadship unites two building yards and one design studio, each with deep roots in Dutch shipbuilding.

Since 1849

Royal Van Lent Shipyard

One of the oldest names in Dutch shipbuilding, building the largest Feadships. Its shipyard has been part of LVMH since 2008.

Since 1906

Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw

The second building yard, renowned for the precision, quality and flawless finish that define every Feadship hull.

Since 1913

De Voogt Naval Architects

The shared design and engineering studio, where every Feadship begins life as a fully bespoke concept.

Craftsmanship

Built one at a time

A Feadship is never rushed. Each yacht takes several years to build, from the first steel plate to the final coat of paint, and much of the work is still done by hand in the yard's Dutch workshops.

This is where the reputation is made: flawless fairing, mirror-perfect paintwork and joinery finished to a standard that very few builders in the world can match.
